Hi and welcome to another amazing blog hop from the Positive Inkers Global Design Team.
The theme of this month's hop is 'A Splash of Colour'. I thought about this for a while and thought of splash, as in water, colour as in a single colour and a splash of colour maybe black and white with a bright contrast colour! Then my mind wandered back to the word 'splash' and I couldn't get it out of my head so I l have taken it quite literally and created a 'splash' of colour on to some Vellum cardstock to create an interesting background.
I mixed up some Polished Pink reinker with a little alcohol and splashed it on to a piece of Vellum cardstock. I let it dry for a while, it takes a bit longer as the ink is water based but once dry, I did the same, this time with Fresh Freesia ink. Once both layers had dried I mixed up a little Whisper White ink with a drop of water and splattered this across the background. Again I allowed it some time to dry and placed it under a heavy object for a short while to prevent it from curling.
I cut the Vellum using our Basic Borders dies and adhered it to a Thick Basic White card base. I added some ribbon and a sentiment which I have taken from the Sweet as a Peach dies.
Finally, I cut a butterfly using the Brilliant Wings dies from Basic Black cardstock and covered it in Wink of Stella. I attached it to my card front along with some 2021-2023 In Color Gems to complete.
I love playing with colour and ink so it was a lovely challenge. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the Design Team have interpreted this theme!
