I held two classes last weekend, the same class in different locations. I love painting and as you can imagine I was delighted when the new catalogue answered my wishes and provided us with another medium to paint with!
Without delay, I set about arranging a special watercolour class. In the morning we learnt some new techniques to create some lovely backgrounds and then the afternoon was spent mastering watercolour painting.
The stamps from Stampin' Up! actually help in so many ways as they often have little detail lines on them which give hints and clues as to where the shadows should be.
I also suggested to the ladies that they should create themselves a colour palette. There are thirteen pencils in the set but in fact by creating a colour palette, you can create endless colours. Here is a picture of the colour palette to give you an idea.
It is really simple to achieve, you simply list all the colours along the top and all the colours down the side. Working across (Real Red), add a Real Red box under each colour heading. On the second line (Calypso Coral) do the same again, the whole way across and so on until you have completed all colours across the page. Now repeat the same process but this time down the page i.e. Real Red first all the way down over the top of the original colour, then the next colour etc. Once all boxes have two layers blend them using an Aquapainter. I then, on the reverse, created a colour wash for each colour. Finally, I laminated the sheet for use whenever I am using the pencils. It is really worth the effort.
Here are some of the samples from the day, I hope you like them.
Happy crafting!
