Share It Sunday Blog Hop...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Share It Sunday Blog Hop.

Today I am sharing with you a card and gift box which I recently made for a friend's birthday.

I adore the True Love Designer Series Paper from the Mini Catalogue, it has beautiful images and shapes in classic black and white which look gorgeous as they are but look absolutely stunning when coloured.

Here is the card.  The recipient had a tough year last year and I know this is going to be her 'Best Year Yet' so I got to use one of my favourite stamp sets for the greeting.

True Love, Best Year Yet

I cut a Night of Navy base card and a layer from the gorgeous Love You Always foil card.  I then cut a further layer from the True Love Designer Series Paper and coloured it in using Stampin' Blends in Night of Navy, Rococo Rose, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.

I then made a matching gift box using the same colours and tied it together wiith some polka dot ribbon and a double gift tag.

"It's all about the LOVE, baby" Theme Stampers Showcase Blog Hop...

Hi and welcome to the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop for January where it is "all about the LOVE, baby"!  Yes that's right, it is getting close to that time of year where cupid's arrow is about to strike.

I wanted to create a card today that could be used for Valentines or just a nice card to send to a friend or family member and I love the greeting on this card "Happy Heart Day".

Arrange a Wreath

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and sponged the background using the new blending brushes in Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo to give an ombre effect.  I then used one of the little heart stamps from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and using Versamark ink, randomly stamped the hearts on to the sponged background before heat setting with clear embossing powder.  The hearts are really subtle but catch the light beautifully.

Arrange a Wreath

I then splattered the background with some water and a little bit of Frost White Shimmer Paint.  The black edge and the white heart were both cut using the Stitched Be Mine dies.  I arranged all the pieces together, adding some linen thread, adhesive jewels, heart charm and a few resin hearts.

Arrange a Wreath

I cut a further Basic White background which I embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  The greeting is also taken from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set.

Monday Mashup #25...

Good morning and welcome to Monday Mashup #25!

I hope you have all had a good weekend, we had snow for the second time this year, not a huge amount but because it is so cold it isn't going anywhere and has now turned to ice.  I am kind of happy we are not allowed to go out at the moment!

Saturday was one of those frustrating days where we spent nearly the whole day searching for something, turning the house upside down only to find it in a place we had both searched several times!

Anyhow, today I have a kinetic card for you.  I love a card that has personality and this one is something a little bit different.

I have used the Sale-a-Bration Paper Blooms Designer Series Papers which you can earn for free with a qualifying order of £45.

The card has a window and when you open the card, the greeting panel has a rocking motion.  I made this card and found that the greeting panel stuck a little, I have recorded a video on how the card was made and how to avoid the sticking!

Here is the card I made for the video demonstration.
