Convention - Part 5

It was my first experience of Convention this year and it certainly lived up to my expectations and I shall certainly be returning next year.

Stampin' Up! invited all demonstrators, whether you attended convention or not, to submit an entry for the Design Contest.  You are invited to submit a card or 3d item to be judged against your fellow demonstrators.  I was not originally going to enter the competition but I decided to give it a go anyway.  Unfortunately I wasn't fortunate enough to win any prizes (which was no surprise when you see some of the items below!) but I thoroughly enjoyed taking part.

So, here is my entry...

The box is a three sided triangle, each with three houses on the outside, it then opens up...

To reveal yet more houses and a Christmas tree.  And here is a close up of the tree.

The winner of the English prize made this amazing carriage.  The picture doesn't do it justice but it was fab.

And here are some of the other 3d entries.

As you can see, competition was fierce but it is the taking part and I already have some fabby ideas going through my head for next year.

Here are a few of the card entries.

I will be back tomorrow with some card candy.

Convention - Part 4

It's me again, yesterday I promised to share some card candy with you.  Before I set off for Convention, I agreed to take part in a card candy swap.  I love these swaps as you get the opportunity to see lots of great creations just like the pre-made packs you see in the shops just much much better!

Here are the two I made using the stamp sets Boys Will Be Boys and Sea Street.  As much as I love these two sets up until recently I personally would not have had much use for them but now I have two gorgeous great nephews, it is the perfect opportunity for me to indulge in a bit of cuteness.

They really are fab, I really cannot bring myself to break up the sets and use them but I love going through them and I shall keep them in a folder for inspiration in the future.
