Monday Mashup #49 with a Sneak Peek of Happy Holly-Days...

 Happy Holly-Day

Good morning and welcome to another Monday Mashup.  I have a very exciting Sneak Peek of a brand new bundle called Happy Holly-Days which will be available from 3 August and comes with a fantastic punch!

As soon as I saw this set it was always going to be my first purchase as I love birds but specifically Robins as it is always said that they are a lost loved one coming to say hello.  We get lots of visits in our garden quite possibly because they get fed extremely well.  Our garden is like a visit to your favourite 5* restaurant!

I started by stamping the robin in stamped off Sahara Sand ink on to Fluid 100 paper.  I then used a mixture of colours to paint the bird.  I added a hand painted log for him to sit on and watercoloured some holly leaves which are also in the same stamp set.

The trickiest part was getting the colour right for his breast.  Although they are called Robin Red Breast, in fact they are not red at all but more an orange colour.  I mixed some Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and a little Soft Suede to reach the desired colour.

I added some 'highlights' with the use of a white gel pen to add some depth and splattered the background of the card in Soft Succulent ink.

The greeting is also taken from the same stamp set and I used Evening Evergreen ink and a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to achieve the two colours.

I have recorded a video so you can see the process to create Mr Bobbin!

I hope you have enjoyed a little sneak peek today and if you are not on my mailing list and would like to receive a copy of the Autumn/Winter catalogue then please get in touch or request your copy here.

I hope you have a really good week and I will no doubt be back during the week!

  1. You did a super job coloring the robin. Such a nice change from doing flowers. Anxious to see the upcoming christmas catalogue.
