One Sheet Wonder - Breaking away from the norm....

Hi and welcome to my blog.  Today I am sharing some cards with you that I made at my Crafty Drop-in last evening after creating a One Sheet Wonder.

So, what is a one sheet wonder?  A one sheet wonder is where you use a set of stamps or a mixture of numerous stamps and inks to create your own patterned paper.  The design can be as open as you wish or very detailed like this one we created using the Pretty Perennials stamp set.

I used a mixture of Rococo Rose, Blackberry Bliss, So Saffron, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and Gray Granite in this design.  Although the Pretty Perennials was the base of my design, I also used stamps from several other stamp sets and a mask to add some additional layers and textures.

Traditionally, the stamped sheet would then be cut into a series of shapes usually squares, rectangles and triangles or a mixture of all three but I wanted to break away from the norm to show how you can make other interesting cards by using different shapes and designs.

Here are the four cards we made last evening.

Pretty Perennials

For the first one we cut a rectangle panel but then cut circles from within to add some white space, embellish the florals and add our greeting.

For the second card we used those circles that we removed from the first, adding some faux stitching and some additional circles.

For this one we cut some little strips of paper measuring approximately 1cm x 3cm and creating a design on the bottom section of our card.

This one is simply punched shapes.

There are endless possibilities and here are a few more ideas using the same One Sheet Wonder.

I hope you like the projects, it is sometimes nice to break away from the norm and use a technique in a slightly different way.

I recently made a cute card storage box to hold a set of cards like these so I will be demonstrating that at my next Crafty Drop-in (Tuesday 9 February at 7.30pm) if you would like to drop in.  The link will be on my Facebook page which you can access using the Facebook symbol in the side bar.

Thanks for hopping by!
