Colour Combo February Blog Hop...

Good morning and welcome to the February Colour Combo Blog Hop.

Today we are creating with

This is such a striking colour combo and I have been desperate to use the beautiful Suite Sampler Hostess set.  I feel this stamp set has been largely missed as it is hidden away at the back of the catalogue.  It contains some bonus images from four of the beautiful suites in the mini catalogue.  This is a special set just for hostesses but you can earn it too.  Please get in touch if you would like to know how.

For my card, I used a Thick Basic White card base.  I cut a smaller layer of Basic White cardstock and using the script from Very Versailles, used second generation stamping to the right of the panel in Flirty Flamingo ink.  I then stamped the leaves in Soft Sea Foam before adding the greeting in Pacific Point.

I sponged the edges of my card using Soft Sea Foam and then Flirty Flamingo.  I liked the way the mix of the two colours toned down the Flirty Flamingo a little.

For the dragonflies I stamped them in Flirty Flamingo ink and sponged some Pacific Point on to the base of the body.  I cut them out, minus the wings.

I stamped two of the wing sections in Versamark ink on Vellum cardstock and heat embossed using white embossing powder.  I sponged some Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo ink on to the reverse of the wings, cut them out and attached them to dragonfly bodies.

Here's a close up of the dragonfly.

I hope you like my card.  Rene is up next who I know will have something beautiful to share with us today.

All of the products I used to make my project are listed below and can be purchased from my online shop by clicking on the links.

Happy Stampin'
