Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Winter/Holidays...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.

This month we have been set the theme of Winter/Holidays and when an event is added to Facebook, you get the opportunity to add a photo to the event.  I have taken inspiration from the picture added for this event to create my own card.

This is the photograph.

I loved the dramatic sky and the snow falling over the hills.

Here is my card.

'

I started off with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and sponged some Whisper White ink to the left hand side and across the middle of the sky and a snowy hill before adding some Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy ink to darken the sky.

I then used the trees from the Waterfront stamp set whilst using a Post-It note to mask the hill so I just stamped the top parts of the trees.  Some trees were stamped in Night of Navy, some in Basic Gray, stamped off, and finally I painted the stamp in our Frost White shimmery paint and stamped them over the top.

I then splattered some more of the Frost White shimmery paint over the background before adding my greeting from the Snow Wonder stamp set.

I mounted this on to Silver Foil and a Night of Navy card base.

I hope you like my card, I just knew as soon as I saw that photograph what I would create.  I have recorded a video here so you can see how it was made.

Wendy is up next who I am sure has something gorgeous to share with you.

Happy Stampin'

Jo

  5. Beautiful card! Your color choices and shading are perfectly done! I would love more details on how you achieved this look, like did you also sponge white on the bottom, or is that the Balmy Blue color that just looks ver light in the photo?
