Monday Mashup #16...

Morning and welcome to my Monday Mashup.  I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

I spent some time in my craft room making up a few bits and pieces in preparation for Christmas and attended a wonderful Crafternoon Tea hosted by a couple of fellow demos on Sunday afternoon which made a very pleasant change.  As much as I love hosting classes, it is always nice to sit back and enjoy somebody else's hard work!

Today I have dusted off a stamp set which I purchased at the end of last year's Christmas season and never really showcased it to its full.  It is Perfectly Plaid which has a co-ordinating punch.

And here is what I made....

I started by drawing a hill on the front of my Thick Whisper White card and cut away the excess above the hill.  I then lined up a Balmy Blue layer underneath and lightly drew where the hill line was.  I then stamped the tree in Garden Green ink in first and second generation roughly following the hill line.  I also stamped a spare tree on a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock, punched it out and added a trunk using Early Espresso ink.

I then sponged the hill using Whisper White ink and also a little in the sky for clouds.  Once dry I added some snowflakes using my favourite snow stamp from the Nature's Beauty stamp set to the sky and the spare tree.  I glued the Balmy Blue layer to the inside of my card.

I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso ink.  I then punched out my tree and attached it to the front hill, stamped and cut out a couple of pine cones and attached them with a linen bow.  Finally I added a little embossing paste to the bottom of my tree on the front.

This is how the card looks from the top.

I have a video for you showing the various steps.

I hope you like my project today and will give it a go for yourself.

All of the products I have used in my project can be purchased from my online shop by clicking on the links below.  For one day only, this Tuesday 24 November, there is a 10% sale on almost everything in the Annual Catalogue so what better time to treat yourself.  The image below will take you direct to my shop or you can contact me directly.

Wishing you a good week.
