Ink.Stamp.Share November Blog Hop - Tree Decoration...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share Monthly Blog Hop you may have hopped over from Karen or starting the hop here.

When I created the theme for this hop it was kind of selfish on my part as it has always been an idea of mine to create tree decorations purely from paper.  Paper is so versatile and with our lovely DSP and range of coloured cardstock, there is so much to choose from.

I am also featuring a guest on my blog today.  Kirsty from The Paper Peonies has created a gorgeous star decoration using the beautiful Stitched Star dies and you can see her creation here.

I have created two tree decorations for this hop.  The first is a Christmas tree made from rolls of DSP.

Each roll is made up of a piece of DSP which measures 5cm long, the first roll being 1.5cm wide and each subsequent roll is made 0.5cm wider until you have 9 rolls.  I wrapped the rolls around a lollipop stick and sealed the end before removing from the stick.  The paper I have used for this tree is Heartwarming Hugs which has the beautiful traditional Christmas colours, I am quite a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas.

I cut a strip of Early Espresso card approximately 12cm long and 1.5 cm wide, folded it in half and glued it together to make it nice and strong.  I then hot glued some ribbon and the paper rolls to it before adding the stars to the top taken from the Stitched Stars dies.

My second tree decoration is using the beautiful gold hoop embellishments from the Forever Greenery Suite.  I cut three of the leaves from the Forever Flourishing Dies in Pear Pizzazz cardstock and sponged the edges in Old Olive ink and stamped three of the pine cones from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Early Espresso ink before fussy cutting them out.  The sheer Real Red ribbon was used to create my hanger and a bow.

I hope you like my decorations today, they were a bit of fun to make and I cannot wait to see what everybody else has created.

Rochelle is up next and I know she will have something amazing to share with us today.  You can follow the hop by using the next button below or a full roll call can be found below.

Happy Christmas
