Good morning and thank you for popping by.
Today I want to share with you projects from my latest class. I am always asked about the colouring techniques I use and whilst I am no artist, and have never claimed to be, it is one of my favourite things to do with our wonderful stamps.
I held a class a year or so ago covering various techniques with our watercolour pencils but for this class we have concentrated predominantly on water colouring techniques using inks but also some background blending techniques and also colouring using our amazing Stampin' Blends.
Here are the three projects the ladies are making today.
We are starting with the umbrellas using the Under My Umbrella stamp set. This is a great stamp to start practising colouring techniques, especially water colouring as there are clearly defined areas which have natural and easily identifiable shapes.
The purpose of the class is to build up skills whilst making it achievable for everybody no matter the starting point.
To have a rest from the water colouring (more of that later), we are moving on to background blending techniques and colouring with the amazing Stampin' Blends. For this we are using the cute Warm & Toasty stamp set and the Stampin' Blends to colour the reindeer. We are using the Sponge Brayers to create our sponged background and a quick technique to make our tree more bushy! We are also adding some of our Shimmery Embossing Paste for the snow.
Finally, we are moving on to the poinsettias, using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. This has been born from a card I recently made and shared here on my blog a few weeks ago. This is a little more advanced and time consuming but again is very achievable by all working step by step through the process and developing the skills learnt earlier in the day.
I have been requested to make a video of the technique for the poinsettias which I thought would also be helpful for the class attendees to refer to, to further develop their skills at home.
Here is the video, I hope you will find it useful too.
All of the products that have been used in the making of these projects can be found below and can be purchased from my online shop. Or why not become a demonstrator, it is so much fun and you are not required to hold classes, there is so much to gain from the love of papercraft and I would love you to join my team. Please contact me if this is something which may interest you for a no obligation chat or if you have any questions or queries about today's projects then please get in touch.
Happy Stampin' (and Colouring)
Jo
