Good afternoon and welcome to the first ever Stampin' for Christmas Monthly Blog.
This is an exciting new blog hop which focuses on everything Christmas. Traditionally other than a Christmas in July event I hold every year, I do not really start my Christmas crafting until around September but I am making an exception for Christmas hops!
You may have joined me from Lisa or starting the hop here.
I have decided to share with you today a card using the brand new Have a Hoot stamp set. It is such a cute little set with six images of owls for various occasions. It will be available to order from 4 August so not long to wait!
I have used a Seaside Spray base card with a Crumb Cake layer which measures 12.85cm x 8.5cm. I then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to measure 12.35cm x 8cm. I sponged the top two thirds of the Whisper White panel using Seaside Spray ink and our sponge brayers.
I stamped six owl images on Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Staz On ink and lightly water coloured the owls using the Water Painters with Soft Suede and Shaded Spruce inks and the parcels are coloured using a Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin' Marker.
I fussy cut out all the owls, three with branches still attached, and arranged them on my card front in a pyramid shape using dimensionals.
I glued the Whisper White panel to the Crumb Cake panel. I tied on some gold cord and a tag heat embossed in white on to Real Red cardstock. I attached the layers on to the card front using dimensionals and added a few gems to finish.
All of the products I have used to make this card are shown below and can be purchased from my online shop (The Have a Hoot stamp set from 4th August). If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I would love to be yours so please get in touch.
I hope I have inspired you to start your Christmas crafting and I am now going to pass yon on to Kirsty who I am sure will have something amazing to share with you today.
Happy Stampin'
Jo
