Stamp 'n Hop August Blog Hop - Favourite Bundle...

Good morning and welcome to the Stamp 'n Hop August Blog Hop.

You may have enjoyed me from Sandra or starting the hop here.  This month the theme is our Favourite Bundle.  How on earth do you choose?  The truth is there are so many I love but when I took myself back to the first look at our Annual Catalogue, the one which really stood out for me was the Forever Fern Bundle.

FOREVER FERN BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

I loved everything about this Suite, the foliage, the colours in the Designer Series Paper, just everything so it was the first set I bought from the Annual Catalogue.

So, I have two cards for you today, the second of which came about from the offcuts left from the first.

Here is my first card...

I cut a Thick Whisper White base card.  The first layer is from one of the sheets of DSP, followed by a further Whisper White layer.  I carefully lined up the Playful Alphabet dies towards the bottom and cut them out.  I did a few letters at a time and loosely held them in place with Washi Tape.  (I debated for several minutes over which way up the 'H' goes, the cross bar at the top or bottom???  I decided I preferred it at the top only to find it later in the catalogue with the bar at the bottom, oh well, guess that means it can go either way!).  I placed a strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock behind the letters so they stood out more.

I lightly stamped some foliage in Gray Granite in the background (most of which is now covered up but you can see a few peaks of it out the side).  I die cut some foliage from Soft Seam Foam card stock and all the leaves are cut from the amazing DSP, it was quite a lot of fussy cutting but they are too nice not to.  I created the card by gluing down the gold hoop first then I added the greenery and some gold leaves from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Speciality Paper.   I added my Happy and the gold strips were cut from the edge of the same laser cut paper (I don't like to waste anything!).  Finally I added a few gems from the Flowers for Every Season suite to finish.

So once I was done, I had the Birthday letters cut out and I couldn't throw them away so I made a second quick card.

This time I stuck the gold hoop on some DSP and cut it out.  The background is Pretty Peacock with two strips of the beautiful DSP, a few leaves and some gold thread.  Finally, I glazed the letters using our Shimmery Crystal Effects before adding a few gems to complete.

I hope you enjoyed my projects.  I am now going to pass you on to Karen who I am sure has something lovely to share with you today.

Happy Craftin'

Jo
