Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - Easter/Spring...

Dragonfly Garden

Good evening, I hope you are having a good weekend.  Thank you for hopping by for the Stampin' INKspirations March Blog Hop.

Today we are sharing projects with the theme Easter/Spring.  It is such a lovely time of the year to see the Spring flowers popping up and the sun shining but still with that hint that winter hasn't quite gone away and it catches you unaware!

I am sharing a project today using the amazing Dragonfly Garden bundle.

I love the dragonflies but the floral display does it for me every time, it shouts spring to me!

I created this card to show how to add colour to a non-white background.  I started with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped the floral image, in black Staz-on ink, several times to get the effect that I wanted.

I then lightly painted all the images using the Whisper White craft ink reinker.  I then used various colours of pens from the Many Marvellous Markers (although of course you could use your ink pads and/or reinkers) over the top to create the subtle colouring.

Finally, I added Wink of Stella to all the elements to give that beautiful shimmer, added some doodle lines and added the greeting which was heat embossed in white and taken from the Timeless Tulips stamp set.

I hope you like my card, you can purchase the items I made to create it from my online shop by clicking on the links below.

I am now going to pass you on to Angie who I know will have something beautiful to share with you today.

Happy Stampin'

  8. Lovely card! The wild flowers in this set are so sweet which makes your color technique just perfect!! Did you also use a blending brush to lightly darken the outside edges of the card base? Nice touch!
