Good afternoon and welcome to the Stampin' Dreams March Blog Hop. This month we are creating 'Anything but a card'.
This is probably one of my favourite subjects as I love making 3d items or home decor, basically anything but a card!
You have probably heard about the early release of the Butterfly Bouquet suite which will be featured in the new Annual Catalogue in May. If you haven't, you can see it for yourself by clicking on the image below. I know you are going to love it and it available NOW!
I decided I wanted to make a picture to brighten up my craft room wall. I have a selection of frames and I changed my mind at least three times before deciding upon this fancy frame which was originally white so I painted it a subtle pink to compliment the beautiful butterfly colours.
I stamped the butterfly images several times in black Memento ink and coloured them using Stampin' Blends in lots of different colours. I fussy cut them out as I wanted to remove the white edges and once I had a nice selection I arranged them in my frame.
I wanted a light background to set the butterflies on and I have used a piece of the textured paper from the In Good Taste DSP.
I decided to remove the glass from the frame so I could add dimension to the butterfly wings. I added some Wink of Stella to all the wings and stuck them in place before adding a few jewels for that little bit of bling!
Now to make another project with those butterflies that didn't quite make it into the frame!
I hope you like my project today, you can purchase the items I have used to make my project (excluding the frame) from my online shop by clicking on the links below and you can follow the hop by clicking on the participants' names at the end of the post.
Happy Craftin'
Jo
