Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - Embossing Techniques...

Good evening and welcome to the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop.  We are sharing embossing techniques today.

There are so many different types of embossing, there is heat embossing, dry embossing, embossing folders, embossing paste each of which can be used in so many different ways.  I am showing a technique today using dry embossing (albeit it does involve some water!).

I started by blending Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay inks on to a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock.  I then splattered the background with water and allowed it to dry.  I then ran the card through my die cutting machine using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  Being a 3D folder, the embossed parts are really deep and detailed.

I then took a sanding block and lightly sanded the top off the card to reveal the white underneath.  I then couldn't resist adding some gilding flakes to some of the raised area to give it a nice patina!

This card took me completely out of my comfort zone but I thoroughly enjoyed making it, I hope you like it!

I recorded a short video of the process so you can see how it was made.

Happy Embossin'

  8. Oh that's a really fantastic card! There's a lot of work and steps but the bone folder sticks out so well and the idea of using vellum on it helps the work stand out nicely at the back. Really a great idea!
