Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop - Guest Designer...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop.

I am very excited and privileged to be joining the Team as their Guest Designer for this week.

The theme is Invitations and specifically for the party season.  Sadly in the UK we will not be able to have the usual parties we would normally see at New Year due to current restrictions but we will be celebrating in our own homes nevertheless.

When I think of New Year I always think of black with metallics and maybe a pop of colour so that is where I started, with a Basic Black card base.

I also think of fireworks and I wanted to create a background which looked like fireworks in the sky and at the top and bottom of my card I created some firework like patterns.  I mixed a little of our Frost White Shimmer Paint with a drop of Crushed Curry reinker to give it a gold effect.  I then used an embossing tool and dipping the end in the paint, I created a series of dots, five dots per ink collection.

I then cut the WELCOME and 2021 from the Playful Alphabets dies and Brushed Metallics cardstock.  I used the Monogram Messages stamp set to stamp and heat emboss the balloons which became the O and Zero.

I stamped the Celebrating Another Year and heat embossed it in gold embossing powder, taken from the Well Said stamp set.

I cut a further strip of Basic Black cardstock and a small piece of the Bushed Metallics for the bottom edge.  I arranged the words and balloons and used some gold metallic thread to the bottom edge and from the balloons before using dimensionals to adhere it to my card front.

Finally I added some Glimmer Crystal Effects to the letters, numbers and balloons.

I hope you like my invitation, it was good fun to create and lets hope 2021 brings us some good things and more importantly good health for everyone.

All of the products used to make my invitation are shown below.

I want to thank the Paper Adventures Team for inviting me to be part of their blog hop and I am now going to pass you on to Narelle who I am sure will have something beautiful to share with you today.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

  2. I think we are all pretty keen to bring on 2021! This invite just screams New Years to me, with the gold and black and the "fireworks". They are so clever, what a cool technique. Thank you so much for joining in our team blog hop this month, and for creating something so gorgeous to share with us.

  3. Great idea for creating the dots-shouts party (virtual for many this year). Hope 2021 is a good one.
