Color Combo Blog Hop - October ...

 

Good morning and thank you for joining me in Norfolk in the UK.  Today I am joining the October Colour Combo Blog Hop and the colours we were tasked with this month are Real Red, Petal Pink and Blackberry Bliss.  Not necessarily colours I would put together on first glance but actually they really compliment each other.  I won't lie, I was crying out to use a little green when creating my project but I stuck with it and this is what I came up with.

 

 

I chose to highlight the beautiful First Frost Stamp Set, this is such a pretty set which creates beautiful results, very quickly.

 

I stamped the sprigs in the background in Blackberry Bliss, first and second generation stamping.  I then cut out some sprigs using Petal Pink cardstock and coloured the berries in Real Red.  I then stamped the flowers in Petal Pink and using a dauber, added some Real Red to the centres of the flowers.  I wanted to keep it quite simple and clean.  I then added the greeting and some mini gold sequins.  I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers but this doesn't really show in the photographs.

Ink & Share September Blog Hop - Anything But a Card....

 

Hello and thank you for joining me today for another amazing Ink & Share Blog Hop.  This month a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the World had a theme set of 'Anything But a Card'.  What a fab theme as it opens up the imagination to all sorts of things.

 

You have joined me from the amazing Melissa and I am sure you enjoyed her projects.

 

I am sharing with you today a little box I designed to hold some nail polishes as a gift idea for Christmas.  Here is my project.

 

 

It is kind of a handbag/gift box which could hold all sorts of things.  I am a bit of a 3d girl so I love nothing more than taking inspiration from all sorts of packaging and trying to create something from it.  This one however was from my imagination as I knew exactly what I wanted to hold inside it.

Ink & Share Scrapbook Hop: Sketch Challenge...

 

Hello and thank you for joining me today for what is my first ever Scrapbook Blog Hop.  I have been stalking the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop since it was set up!  I have been a scrapbooker for many years but rarely get a chance to actually sit down and do some, I am hoping this will be the start of many more.

 

This Blog Hop is a collaboration of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world, coming together to share their love of Stampin' Up! and scrapbooking.

 

The theme set was a sketch.  I love working from sketches as they can inspire you when your mojo has disappeared and although I rarely follow sketches to the letter (as you will see), they inspire me to make the start.

 

Here is the sketch...

 

 

I instantly fell in love with this sketch and knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use.

 

Around 18 months ago we commissioned an artist to paint a portrait of our two puppies.  I had seen some amazing work by this artist and as I do not have an artistic bone in my body, asked her to draw a portrait of our pups.  What I didn't realise at the time was that she would send me work in progress pictures.  Straightaway I knew they had to appear in a scrapbook page.  So please meet Jeffrey and Betty.

 

 

This picture shows the completed work and here are the work in progress pictures across a double page layout!

As you can see, I have only used one layer of circles at the bottom of my page as it balanced my page slightly better and I have also offset the circles where the sketch shows them in the middle.  I have used the amazing Joyous Noel DSP which features in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue and to prove it isn't 'just for Christmas!'.  The colours are stunning and I thought they complimented the colouring in the pups really well.

Colour Combo Blog Hop September 2018...

 

Good morning, and welcome to the Colour Combo Blog Hop.  You may have joined me today from the amazing Angela Köber.

 

I am here to share with you a project using the Colour Combo Garden Green, Old Olive and the lovely new colour Gorgeous Grape.

 

I decided to make my card using the Jar of Love stamp set.  This set is one which I absolutely love and have used it a great deal in projects for both personal use and classes but just lately it has sat on the shelf because we have had so many new amazing products so I decided to give it a dust off.

 

I stamped the jar in Memento on to my background and stamped and cut the various foliage and leaves in a mixture of Garden Green and Old Olive.  I then stamped the flowers in Gorgeous Grape using second generation stamping for the background and adding the detailed parts also using Gorgeous Grape.  I also stamped the jar on to a piece of vellum using Staz On which I then glued over the top of the original stamped image to resemble glass.
