Ink.Stamp.Share Showcase...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share Blog Hop.  We are here to share projects we have been working on this week.

I recently purchased the gorgeous stamp set Perched in a Tree.  We have several robins visit our garden on a daily basis and I always say 'good morning Mr/Mrs Bobbin'.  It is said that 'when a robin appears, a loved one is near' and I always like to think it is mum and dad popping in to say hello!!!  I also think it is quite appropriate for the very sad news of Her Majesty the Queen's passing this week.

I had a vision for this card and wasn't really sure if it would work but once it was complete, I absolutely loved it.  I created a simple easel card and die cut the birch trees for the front.  I then created a 'backward' easel, for want of a better description, to the front of the card.  The two pieces meet and support each other in the middle.

In the same delivery I had also ordered the Soft Seedlings stamp set with the lovely sycamore leaves.  I stamped the leaves in Crushed Curry ink and using blending brushes, added some Pumpkin Pie, Mossy Meadow and a little Merry Merlot to the stamp.  I love how the two sets really compliment each other.

I used our beautiful soft watercolour pencils to colour the robin, just look at his very round full belly, must have been one of our visitors!!!

I hope you like my project today, you can see what everyone else has been making this week by clicking on the next blog button below.  Here's a quick video of how it was made.

Have a lovely weekend,

Jo

  10. Hello Jo from the United States. I watched your wonderful and detailed video on the double easel card and followed your instructions step by step. I am very happy with the results except for one problem. The aspen tree easel section I got to stay upright by gluing three pieces of cardstock together and then adhered it to the base. The other part however, where the plump robin is will not stay in place and keeps popping up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your help.
