Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - FONTS-amental!...

Good evening and welcome to another Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop.  Our subject this month is FONTS-amental (with a bit of mixed media added in too)!

So let's start with FONTS.  I am a lover of fonts and I like to see different fonts mixed together.  Fonts can convey so much before you even read the words.  You can have a swirly font which instantly makes me think of happy celebrations but equally, subtle swirls can be romantic or even great for sympathy cards.

Nature's Harvest

The font and sentiment I have chosen is from the Nature's Harvest Bundle.  I love the simplicity of the first and third line which is almost a typewriter font and are making a statement.  The real 'sentiment' is in a soft swirl and together they compliment each other so well.

For my card I started by creating a watercoloured background.  I simply placed some ink on a shiny surface, Granny Apple Green, Misty Moonlight, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana.  I then spritzed the ink liberally with water before placing a piece of Fluid 100 paper down in to the ink.  After a few moments I lifted the paper and dried it using a heat tool.  Once dry I splattered the background with some water to create some lighter spots.  I dried again and using the Stamparatus, I added the same inks, randomly, to the stamp.  I then spritzed the stamp lightly before stamping on to the background.  I spritzed with water on to the stamp once more and re-stamped to get the watercolour effect.  If necessary, you can add some additional colour with a paintbrush.  I dried once more before embossing the background with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.  I lightly sanded the top layer of the card and added some more ink to distress it further.

I added some Cork Speciality Paper in the background and some torn paper for the sentiment.

I loved creating this card, there is nothing quite like getting inky!

Cheryl is up next and I can't wait to see what she has created.

Happy Stampin'
