Good morning and welcome to this Bank Holiday Monday Mashup here in the UK. That can mean only one thing, time to craft!
I have had a busy weekend with one thing and another. Saturday evening we went to see Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra at the Queen's Royal Norfolk residence, Sandringham. It was such a lovely setting and a really good night albeit a bit chilly, but at least it didn't rain!
I recently made a card for a swap group where we featured techniques. One technique I hadn't done for a while is called the Batik technique. Traditionally done on cloth, we can create a faux batik using paper inks and embossing.
I started with a Soft Sea Foam base and I built up layers, first by stamping some images, then heat embossing, sponging and highlighting.
It is a really fun technique and works particularly well with leaves and foliage.
You can see how I made it here.
All items can be purchased from my online shop by clicking on the links below and don't forget that during Sale-a-Bration (which runs to the end of September), for every £45 spend you get to chose a free item from the exclusive Sale-a-Bration catalogue.
I hope you like my card today and will give it a go.
Happy Stampin'
Jo
