Ink.Stamp.Share July Blog Hop - Other Celebration...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share July Blog Hop where this month we are making a project for any 'Other Celebration' but not Birthday.

You may have joined me from Annette or starting the hop here but either way we have a bumper hop for you today so sit back and enjoy.

Today I am sharing with you a card I have had in my mind for a while.  I adore the Celebrate Sunflowers set and I love the vibrancy you can achieve on the sunflowers but I wanted to create a mottled dark background to really show them off.

Here is what I came up with.

I started by inking the sunflower stamp in Versamark ink, then straight over the top I inked again using Soft Suede ink.  I stamped my image onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and embossed using clear embossing powder.  This is a great way to achieve whatever colour embossing you require.

I then watercoloured the sunflowers using a mixture of Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie and Cinnamon Cider.

I then watercoloured the background in Misty Moonlight, moving the ink around until I achieved the desired effect.  When you see it in real life the background looks almost velvety.  I hope you like it.

The greeting is taken from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.

All of the products I have used on this project are shown below and are available from my online shop.

I love to receive your feedback so if you would like to leave me a comment it would be really appreciated.  I am now going to pass you on to Tricia who I know will have something beautiful to share with you today.

Happy Stampin'

SF 2020 Blog Hop - Anything Goes...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Stampin' Friends July Blog Hop.

We have been given free reign this month with the theme Anything Goes.  You would think that is the easiest theme wouldn't you, actually it is very challenging as there are so many beautiful stamp sets and papers to play with that it can be overwhelming.

I decided that I wanted to give you a sneak peak of the amazing new autumn DSP coming in the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  It is called Gilded Autumn and is one of our speciality paper packs so it has some gilded elements which are just beautiful.

There are also three autumn themed punches in the pack so I decided I wanted to make a shaker box.  This isn't something I have tried before but I was quite pleased with the results, see what you think.

The shaker part is approximately 1cm deep so it enables you to put some slightly more bulky shaker pieces inside.

I of course had to make a card to go with my box and I made a wreath using lots of the beautiful punched leaves.

I hope you liked my projects today, they were definitely fun to make.

All of the projects I used to make these projects will be available from 4 August!

Please continue through the hop by following the roll call list.

Stampin' Dreams - July 2020 - Male Card (Any Occasion)...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Stampin' Dreams July Blog Hop.

This month we have been given the theme Male Card, for any occasion.  I think we all struggle a little with male themed cards, I am not sure why but most crafters will say the same.

Not this time though as we recently saw the release of the new stamp set called Game On.

I started with a Basic Black card base and cut out a further piece of Basic Black one centimetre smaller than my card front.  I then cut out some 3cm Whisper White squares and arranged them in a chequer board pattern.

I then stamped two sets of the chess pieces and coloured one set using the new Water Painters.

I matted the chequer board background on to Pretty Peacock cardstock before mounting it on to a Basic Black card base.  The white chess pieces are glued flat and the black chess pieces are mounted using 3d foam.

I cut a banner using a brand new punch coming in the Autumn/Winter catalogue and stamped the greeting from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp sets using Real Red ink.

Finally, I added a few new embellishments which are also coming in the Autumn/Winter catalogue which launches next month.

I hope you have liked my project today and I would love to hear what you think so would be grateful if you could leave me a comment below.

July 2020 Kre8tors Blog Hop: Tropical Nights Color Challenge...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Kre8tors July Blog Hop.  You may have joined me from Tracie, or starting the hop here but we have a bumper of a hop today so sit back and enjoy.

This month we have been set a colour challenge, probably my favourite type of hop as it really makes you think outside the box and it certainly did that.  Here was the brief.

The colours are Basic Black, Basic Gray, Rococo Rose, Night of Navy and So Saffron.  A beautiful colour combo but a challenge for sure.

My project today has been made using the beautiful Seaside Notions stamp set.

I started by creating my background using a piece of Whisper White cardstock and using the Sponge Brayers added some Night of Navy ink to the background making it slightly lighter towards the centre.  I then embossed this piece using the brand new Seabed Embossing Folder.  I was being lazy and didn't use the correct sandwich in my cutting machine which caused the paper to crack slightly but I loved the effect so I am calling it my happy accident!

I then stamped the seahorse, shells and coral using Memento ink on to Whisper White cardstock.  I then coloured the pieces using a mixture of Night of Navy, So Saffron and Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends.

I fussy cut these pieces and arranged them on my card front, the seahorse and large shell are attached using 3d foam.

Finally.  I sponged around the whole piece using Basic Gray ink and added some lovely new embellishments coming in the Autumn/Winter catalogue.

I stamped my greeting from the stamp set Best Year in Night of Navy ink on to Whisper White and used a brand new punch also coming in our Autumn/Winter catalogue to cut my banner end.

I then matted the sponged panel on to So Saffron and then Rococo Rose before mounting them on to a Night of Navy card base.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today, all of the products used are available from my online shop by using the links above and below in the Product List.

I am now going to pass you on to Su who I am sure has something lovely to share with you today.

Happy Stampin!
