Good afternoon and welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share July Blog Hop where this month we are making a project for any 'Other Celebration' but not Birthday.
You may have joined me from Annette or starting the hop here but either way we have a bumper hop for you today so sit back and enjoy.
Today I am sharing with you a card I have had in my mind for a while. I adore the Celebrate Sunflowers set and I love the vibrancy you can achieve on the sunflowers but I wanted to create a mottled dark background to really show them off.
Here is what I came up with.
I started by inking the sunflower stamp in Versamark ink, then straight over the top I inked again using Soft Suede ink. I stamped my image onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and embossed using clear embossing powder. This is a great way to achieve whatever colour embossing you require.
I then watercoloured the sunflowers using a mixture of Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie and Cinnamon Cider.
I then watercoloured the background in Misty Moonlight, moving the ink around until I achieved the desired effect. When you see it in real life the background looks almost velvety. I hope you like it.
The greeting is taken from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.
All of the products I have used on this project are shown below and are available from my online shop.
I love to receive your feedback so if you would like to leave me a comment it would be really appreciated. I am now going to pass you on to Tricia who I know will have something beautiful to share with you today.
Happy Stampin'
