Inspire.Create.Challenge #180 | Shades of Grey

Good morning, Happy Sunday and what a great challenge we have for you this week!  We are challenging you to make a project using 'Shades of Grey' be that two, three or fifty!

I had so much fun creating this card.  I started by stamping the polar bear in Pebbled Path ink on to a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and using the trusty watercolour pencils I coloured him in using three colours, white, Basic Gray and Black.

The background was created using the snowflakes and moon and stars from the Forever Forest stamp set, stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I sponged some Pebbled Path ink around the top and around the moon.

For the bottom snow section, I used the little hill stamp from the same stamp set inked and stamped numerous times in White Craft Ink.  Once I had a reasonable covering I very lightly sprinkled a little bit of white embossing powder over the top so it settled in a few places but not a complete covering.  I then heated the embossing powder which gave it a mottled type effect.

The Design Team have done such an amazing job with their grey/gray creations and I cannot wait for you to see them.  Click on the button below to go see them and to enter your own grey creation.  The challenge closes at midnight on Wednesday 13th November.

Have a great day!

  1. I love how Shades of Grey challenges creativity and style! It reminds me of how versatile a faux leather jacket can be it's the perfect blend of edgy and chic, just like the many shades in this challenge. Can't wait to see more!
