Scrapbooking Global April Hop | Sketch

Good morning and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Hop!!! Whether you are joining me from the amazing Sharon or starting the hop right here, get yourself a cuppa and enjoy some amazing creations inspired by this sketch, chosen by Guest Designer Margaret Hammersley Spencer.

I haven't scrapped in like, forever!!!  Scrapbooking is honestly my first love but I rarely get an opportunity to indulge myself with it as there is always some other creative draw needing my attention!

This needs to change, and fast, as we have the cutest new baby in the family!

The base of my layout is Soft Sea Foam and I used the cutest little daisy stamp to create a 'ditsy' background, again in Soft Sea Foam for a subtle effect!

I then used the direct to paper technique by rubbing my ink pad across the card in various points to create some interest and highlight elements on the page.

I mounted the photographs on to Bubble Bath cardstock (who doesn't love a bit of pink!) and the background paper is from the Poetic Expressions 12 x 12 DSP.

I stamped 13 of the floral arrangements from the brand new Country Birdhouse bundle which will be available from 1st May, you will love it!  I coloured them using Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia, Daffodil Delight and Bubble Bath Stampin' Blends before cutting them out and arranging them on my layout.

Harry has been waiting nearly 11 years for a baby sister and he is loving playing the BEST BIG BROTHER role, long may it last!!!  I have used the Alphabet A La Mode dies to cut out B E S T in Moody Mauve and the Mini Alphabet Dies to cut out the B I G   B R O T H E R in Bubble Bath.

The sketch was perfect for adding Daisy's birth details too.

I love these little flower arrangements, nice and quick and easy to colour and gathered together they are so pretty.

I hope you like my project today, it was really fun to create and restored my love of scrapbooking, not that it had ever left me to be fair!!!

You can follow the hop by clicking on the next button below.  Michelle is up next and I cannot wait to see her interpretation of the sketch!  You can see the roll call and follow the hop at the end of this post.

Happy Scrappin!

  3. What a beautiful way to record a special memory, I love how you have framed the images with flowers and the stamping on the cardstock really links everything together!

  4. I love this color combo, soft and sweet. The ink swashes are a highlight but not overwhelming on intensity, at least not to me.
