Good afternoon and welcome to the Kre8tors Blog Hop for March! You may have joined me from Janey or starting your journey here.
We have a bumper hop this month and have been set a real challenge to create a monochromatic project choosing from a selection of the amazing greens we have. I didn't realise just how many greens there are! Here is the selection from what we had to choose.
I must confess I struggled a little to get my head around using just greens and I had a few failed attempts along the way. I finally settled on using Granny Apple Green (my favourite!), Call Me Clover, Garden Green and Shaded Spruce. Here is my card.
I started by creating a background by sponging the four colours on to a piece of Whisper White card. I sprinkled some water over the top to add some splodge marks. Finally, I splattered some Frost White Shimmer Paint to the background. I heated the shimmer paint which causes it to bubble and gives a nice textured effect.
I then mounted the background on to a piece of Whisper White before adhering to my black card front.
For the leaves, I heat embossed the leaves from the Rooted in Nature stamp set using White Embossing Powder before sponging over the top in a mixture of the four greens and cutting them out.
I stamped the greeting and embossed in white on black card before cutting out.
I put my elements together on my card and added some linen thread.
I hope you have enjoyed my project and I am now going to pass you on to Annette.
Thank you for hopping by.
Happy Stampin'
Jo
