Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop - Love...

Good afternoon and thank you for joining me for the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop.  You may have joined me from Shirley or starting the hop here.

February being the official month of 'Love' we are celebrating everything that is love.

I am sharing something with you today which is quite sad and very personal but a true celebration of LOVE.

Here is my scrapbook page...

This is a very simple clean page because I made it to frame as a gift for my nephew.  The beautiful couple in the picture is my nephew and his fiancé Jodie taken whilst they were on a trip to New York and moments after Jodie nearly tipped the boat over!!!

Our family was absolutely heartbroken when last June, Jodie passed away very suddenly.  She was in good health and her death was so very unexpected.  She had been out for the day on the Saturday, having a lovely time catching up with an old friend and Sunday morning she passed away from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), she was 35, leaving two children aged 12 and 5.  She was the most beautiful lady inside and out, life and soul of the party and fun to be around, we all loved her dearly and were all looking forward to their special day.  They would have been married on the 8th of this month.

I am so very proud of my nephew who has two young children to bring up alone, whilst dealing with his own grief, and he is doing an amazing job.

I have used the simple colour scheme of Claret and Blue (Merry Merlot and Balmy Blue) as this was the colour scheme they had chosen for their day not least because my nephew is an avid West Ham United supporter!

I kept the background very clean using the heart dies to create the background with the addition of some shimmery white paste.  I then dyed some white bakers twine using Balmy Blue ink for the bow and Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends to colour the gems.

Here are some close ups...

I hope you like my project today and I am now going to pass you on to Lisa who I am sure has something lovely to share with you.

Jo
