Inspire.Create.Challenge #204 | Christmas

The Inspire.Create team have a Christmas challenge for us this week.  It literally means anything Christmas be that a card, scrapbook page, home decor, packaging, it is totally your choice.

I have made a card with a new stamp I received recently.  This is from an amazing artist and stamp designer called Lesia Zgharda.  Lesia is from the Ukraine but she ships Worldwide!

Lesia has several deer stamps in her collection so I really didn't need another one however, this little guy really took my eye, he has such a happy face!

I stamped the deer on to Crumb Cake cardstock using Stazon Ink to ensure a lovely crisp image.  I then used Polychromos pencils to colour my image.  They blend so beautifully as they have an oil base.  I have had my set of pencils for over 15 years and they still look like new and you can buy replacements individually too if needed.

I also used colouring pencils to create a shadow behind the deer with a really light stroke and blended it out into the background card.

Once I finished colouring, I made a mask of the deer head using a Post-it Note.  I put it in place and splattered the background in White Craft Ink.

The edges of the card I used Crumb Cake and a little Early Espresso ink to the edges of the card before mounting it on to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I do hope you will join us in this week's challenge.  You can do so by clicking on the link below.  The challenge closes at midnight on Wednesday 5th November.

Have fun!
