Ink.Stamp.Share Showcase Blog Hop...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share Showcase Blog Hop.  I have taken a rest from the Christmas crafting to share a birthday duo with you.  I have several family birthdays in December so it is always a nice welcome break from the Christmas craft (as much as I love it!).

For my penultimate class for 2022 we used the beautiful Abigail Rose suite.  I adore this suite and the Designer Series Paper is amazing with so many images you can colour in or leave as they are, it is truly stunning.

I decided to use the tulip paper for my projects today.  I have mixed it with the beautiful Petal Pink stripe paper.  The only sad thing is that they are on the reverse of each other so I then got torn which side to show off!

I started off with a simple square of the tulip DSP and very lightly watercoloured the flowers and leaves in Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz ink.  Once dry I cut a strip from the left hand side and flipped it over to reveal the stripes.  I love the simplicity of this card whilst it also being very striking.  I then made a matching envelope from more DSP.

The inside required a little dressing up too, how pretty do Early Espresso and Petal Pink look together!

Then to the gift.  I created this gorgeous box to hold a little gift which came unpackaged and needed some tlc.

I followed exactly the same colours for the box and kept it nice and simple.  I love how the stripes compliment the dark tulip paper.  I also love this sentiment which is taken from the Graceful Tiles stamp set.

Here are the projects together, ready to gift.

I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else is showcasing with us today.  You can follow the hop by clicking on the next blog button below.

Have a great day,

Jo

  4. When creating this beautiful birthday duo, the crafter showcased a great eye for design and use of the Abigail Rose suite. Even with a simple square of the tulip DSP, the water coloured flowers and leaves in Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz ink, and the matching envelope from more DSP, the finished product was stunning. It's a great example of how academic assignment structure, including attention to detail and composition, can make a big difference in the overall outcome.
