Monday Mashup #67 - Faux Bleaching Technique with Fresh Cut Flowers...

Good morning and Happy Monday.  I have a faux bleaching technique for you today using the beautiful new Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set and the 2022-2024 In Colors.

The bleaching technique has been around for a very long while but I was never comfortable using strong chemicals such as bleach in my cardmaking albeit the effects were pretty cool.  I always opted for Milton as an alternative but it is still full of chemicals.  It got me to thinking how I could create a similar look with water.

I started by creating a sponged background.  I sponged Orchard Oasis and Starry Sky to a Tahitian Tide base before heat embossing the image using gold embossing powder.

I then used water to lift some of the colour away to lighten it up.

Once the colour was lifted, I added Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet to the embossed flowers, giving them a pop of colour.

I then added more detail to the background before adding the sentiment and mounting it on to my card front.

You can see how it was made here.

The new In-Colors are beautiful and I know you are going to love them.  Why not get them for FREE!!!
