SF June 2020 - What's Going On...

Good afternoon and thank you for joining me for the Stampin' Friends June Blog Hop, you may have joined me from Anne Marie or starting the hop here.  You can navigate around by following the Roll Call list below.  The theme this month is 'What's Going On' - the theme was set prior to lockdown, due to the current pandemic, so inevitably not a great deal has been going on in all our lives at the moment.

However, as you probably know, Stampin' Up! released its new Annual Catalogue on the 3rd of this month so in fact a great deal has been going on with online classes, exciting new products and beautiful new In-Colors.

The other thing that has changed for us during lockdown is that we have been shopping very differently by using local businesses for our everyday needs.  I am actually quite ashamed to say that I was not using them more beforehand and will endeavour to continue to use them when this is all over.

The reason I am telling you this is that on a visit to a local farm shop I picked up these cute little jars of preserves and I thought they would make a really sweet gift, with some beautiful packaging of course!

I wanted to make a box which held them all together in a triangle.  They are quite heavy so I knew I would have to reinforce any box I made.  This box has a double wall to it to strengthen it.

I used a mixture of products to decorate my box, the papers are from the In Good Taste Suite, the topper is made using the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle and the ferns from the Forever Flourishing dies.

The sunflower was made by wetting a sheet of watercolour paper and adding two new In-Colors, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee and also a little of Mango Melody.  I allowed it to dry thoroughly before die cutting it out and the top layer was cut from Cinnamon Cider cardstock.  The leftover pieces I used to cut the tops of the corn.

I then of course had to make a card to accompany the gift using the same products and techniques.

I hope you like my projects and I am now going to pass you on to Barbara who I am sure has something really lovely to share with you today.

The products I used to make this project are shown below and are all available through my online shop.

Happy Craftin'

  10. Your box and card are amazing. Do you have a tutorial on the box. I have a mother-in-law that lives in a assistant living and would be great for her to give to the nurses as a thank you for Christmas.
