I am so excited to be joining the Ink.Stamp.Share May hop as this month we are showcasing some sneak peaks from the upcoming Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue which launches on the 3 June so not long to wait now.
There are so many amazing new products to share and I have chosen a new stamp set called Celebrate Sunflowers. It is actually part of the Flowers for Every Season collection which I know you are going to love.
I was asked to make a birthday card for a dear friend of mine by her mum, the brief being bright, cheerful and she loves sunflowers so that was good timing!
I took my inspiration for my card from my beautiful craft room curtains made by our very own Laura. I loved this fabric when Laura made some curtains for somebody else so when I moved home last year I knew exactly what fabric I wanted in my craft room.
So I started off with a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped one of the large sunflowers, began to colour and gradually built it up using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set (which I am very relieved to say is with us for at least another year) until I had a full sheet of loveliness.
I then set to designing my card, I opted for a gate fold card, a larger card than I would normally make to show as much of the beautiful colours as possible.
I couldn't waste any of this paper so I decorated the inside too, using virtually the whole sheet.
I absolutely loved creating this card and really struggled to chop it up but I am very pleased I did.
I am often asked about my colouring techniques. I am not an artist in fact I cannot draw if my life depended on it but the amazing stamps from Stampin' Up! enable me to be creative and I love to share that with people so I have made a video (below) of how I coloured the sunflower which I hope you will enjoy and maybe offer some insight in to how I colour.
I am now going to pass you on to Gez who I am sure has something absolutely amazing to share with you today.
Happy Stampin'
Jo
