Good afternoon from sunny Norfolk in the UK!!!!
Today I am taking part in the Kre8tors Blog Hop for July and this month's theme was based on a sketch.
If ever my crafting mojo decides to take a holiday, I always revert back to sketches. I find that sometimes caseing ideas can be restrictive (albeit very handy when required!) but by using a sketch, it can clear the mind of the clutter that is life and forces me to think outside of the box, so to speak. I therefore love a sketch challenge!!!!
The next question then was what stamps was I going to use. I have recently purchased the Animal Outing stamp set and matching Designer Series Papers and couldn't resist having a little play. So, I started with the little giraffe, such amazing creatures and this little fella(s) made me smile.
To create the background, I die cut the animal print background to create a stencil and sponged through the stencil, using Soft Suede, on to Daffodil Delight card. I love how the Daffodil Delight card instantly becomes softer. I then painted three giraffes using Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight inks and an Aquapainter. Once dry I added the eye details using a Soft Suede Write Marker. The sentiment is taken from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, stamped in Versamark and embossed with White embossing powder.
I then decided to make another card using the kangaroo with the cute little koala in his pouch. This time I used watercolor paper and stamped the image in Soft Suede to soften the edges. I couldn't resist stamping a second pouch to make it stand out a little. The background has used the Hardwood stamp (possibly one of my most used stamps ever!) stamped in Soft Suede on to a piece of Sahara Sand and the greeting is taken from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.
And then finally, I couldn't leave out the Rhino so I made a third card, using the same sketch but this time I turned it 90 degrees to give a landscape card.
I think the Rhino is possibly my favourite, you decide!
