SF 2020 April Blog Hop - All About Flowers and Mums...

Good afternoon and welcome to the Stampin Friends April Blog Hop.

You may have joined me from Stephanie or starting the hop here.

This month the subject is 'All About Flowers and Moms'.  I sadly lost my mum in late 2018 so it is definitely a subject I struggle with a little.  Having said that, my mum absolutely loved flowers so I have embraced the subject and my card is dedicated to mum to say thank you for everything she did for me throughout my life and for just being the best mum ever!

Here is my card...

I used the small daisy stamp from the Daisy Lane stamp set.  I stamped the daisy twice in Smoky Slate ink and used Daffodil Delight Blends to colour the petals.  For the centre of the daisy I used the same blends with the addition of a few dots at the base of the centre in dark Soft Suede and then I added a few dots of the Shimmer Paint by using the end of an embossing tool.  You can see the dots in the picture below.

I coloured some twine with a Dark Mossy Meadow Blend and wrapped it around the card topper before adhering it to my card front using 3d foam.  The greeting is from the stamp set So Sentimental and the die is taken from the co-ordinating Stitched So Sweetly dies.

My project this month is something I have been promising myself.  We moved home in August last year and our new house is called Daisy Barn.  I love daisies but I am now obsessed with them!  I wanted to create myself a vase of daisies to sit in the hall.  Inevitably I never managed to find the time but since we have been in lockdown I have been trying to make some of the many projects in my head!

Here is what I started with...

This was my first bloom...

And thirteen blooms later...

And with the card...

I thoroughly enjoyed making these daisies albeit they were a labour of love.  I have made two videos one showing how I made the elements for the flowers and the second one shows how they were assembled.

I hope you liked my projects today.  I am now going to pass you on to Jean who I am sure has something beautiful to share with you.  There is a list of participants shown below should you get lost along the way.

I love to receive feedback so please feel free to leave me a comment.

Keep safe,

Jo
